Since graduating from the University of Chester with a degree in Early Childhood Studies Bek had spent the last 10 years working in Nurseries and also within the Adult Education and Apprenticeships Sector.
During her time at University Bek completed a variety of placements including time at Children Centres, Special Educational Needs Schools and also Primary Schools.
After graduating Bek furthered her childcare experience by working in a Private Day Nursery, whilst in the nursery she worked with all age ranges from the baby room up to pre-school age children. Bek then moved on to working within the Adult Education and Apprenticeships Sector, setting up and managing a successful Early Years Apprenticeship department which covered the South East area.
After moving back to Staffordshire Bek has been working as a Manager of a children’s play centre and has spent her free time volunteering in a local primary school, she has completed safeguarding courses and SENCO training.
Before attending University Vicky worked in an outstanding nursery for a year where she completed her NVQ level 2 in childcare. Once she completed this qualification, she then attended college to study for a BTEC level 3 in Children’s Care Learning and Development.
After leaving college with a triple distinction Vicky then went on to attend University, where she completed a Bachelor of Education in Primary Education with a specialism in Early Years. During this time she completed various teaching practices, including 3 months in a Special Educational Needs setting.
Since completing her degree Vicky has taught in mainstream schools in early years classes. Vicky has been on numerous training courses, including an advanced safeguarding course and SENCO training. Whilst working as a teacher Vicky experienced internal moderation and OFSTED inspections.
My name is Donna I have worked at St Thomas’s Day Nursery for 19 years. I have NVQ Level 2&3 qualifications. I have worked in all the rooms and I have worked in the baby room for the past 15 years.
Hi I’m Lauren, I am a Level 3 qualified nursery practitioner. I have been working with children from babies to 11 years old since I qualified in 2011. I have worked at Little Oaks for 4 years mainly in the 2 to 4 years nursery room, but recently I have been working with the younger and before and after school club. I enjoy working with children gaining a relationship with them and their parents/carers.
Hi I’m Jamie, I am a Level 3 qualified nursery practitioner. I began working at the nursery when partaking in my apprenticeship. After finishing my Level 3 I wanted to learn more about children’s development so I am currently doing a degree in Early Childhood Studies. I mainly am work in the toddler room and love to watch the children grow and develop. I enjoy getting to know our parents and building a great relationship with them.
Hi I’m Sue. I am the nursery cook and love to make the children’s lunches. I enjoy watching the children have fun and enjoy talking to them when they ask what I’m cooking!
Hi, I’m Hannah. I have been working at the nursery since April . I graduated from university in 2014 after completing a course in Early Childhood Studies. In addition to this, I achieved my Early Years Teacher status during my time at university. Throughout my career so far, I have worked with children of all ages and I currently work in the preschool room. I enjoy being able to develop positive relationships with both the children and their parents as I feel that this is one of the most important aspects of supporting a child on their learning journey.
Hi my name is Charlotte and I have been working at the nursery for 3 years. I have a BA dual honours degree in English and Educational Studies. I have experience working with all age ranges although more recently I have been working in the Pre-school room.
